An all original curriculum designed for Guitar. Picking Patterns, Strumming Patterns, and Chord Progressions are curated for your personal level. The goal being to develop your independent Practice of learning and composing music.

LYRIC COMPOSITION

Transform Poems into Lyrics. Dive Deep in the Process of Writing, both as a means of expression and an understanding of Song Structure. Create a daily practice of writing that will inform your current and future songs.

RECORDING + PRODUCTION

Let’s Document the Songwriting Process and bring your original songs to life! Learn recording basics on Garageband and Pro-tools. Utilize modern technology to compose and share your original material.

SONG CLUB!

A cross between a Book Club + a Creative Writer's Group with the centerpiece as the Song. We meet virtually on the first Monday of each month to intentionally listen, share and analyze our favorite songs. For musicians and non-musicians alike. Think Oprah's Book Club for those of us with a three and a half minute attention span. $18 suggested donation.

DB Leonard has developed and taught an all-original music curriculum focusing on Guitar Technique, Songwriting, Lyric Composition, Recording, and Self-Expression.

Clients range in ages from 15–70, with a specialty in songwriters and students with disabilities. He has developed individual and group curriculums, focusing on the PRACTICE of making music, THE WAY OF THE SONG. For nearly three decades DB has taught in New York City, The Hudson Valley and now Nashville.DB has taught at the following institutions: The 92nd Street Y Music School, Barnard College, Daniel’s Music Foundation and The Cooke School in Manhattan.

As a songwriter, DB has fronted an eclectic array of bands and performed at esteemed venues (Passim, The Plough and Stars in Boston) (The Living Room, Mercury Lounge in NYC ) (The Revolution Cafe, Amnesia in San Fran Psycho) His most treasured performances have been as a Busker on the subway platforms of Boston, NYC and San Francisco. He has recorded six independent EPS for Circus Addict Records.
